I am not sure if every one of you heard about buckwheat, until now, and I am pretty convinced that most of you didn’t taste it so far. Let’s change that!

1st of all, buckwheat is a plant that is cultivated for its grain-like seeds, it tastes great and you can cook it in so many different recipes. You will love the taste of it. You can make salty recipes or sweet recipes with buckwheat…it is so versatile. 😀


2nd of all, it is a super healthy produce:

  • Amazing source of high quality protein
  • Great for high blood pressure
  • Non-allergenic and good with your digestion(gluten free)
  • Helps with drawing out retained water
  • It’s not a grain, so doesn’t contain gluten (great for celiac disease)
  • Contain the B-complex range of vitamins
  • Full of minerals such as: copper and magnesium
  • Free of saturated fats and cholesterol
  • Protection against breast cancer
  • Prevents ageing
  • Helps hair growth and improves hair health


Taking into consideration all the mentioned above, I will share with you a super simple recipe that will warm your heart and keep you satisfied. It is so damn easy that even a child could cook it, with no problems at allJ.

Let’s see the ingredients:

  • Buckwheat…of course (I used 250 grams)
  • Carrots (I used 2 large carrots)
  • Onion (I used 1 big onion)
  • Celery sticks (I used 2 pcs)
  • Red pepper (I used 1 red pepper)
  • Salt + pepper + curry (to match your taste)
  • Olive oil (I used 3 tablespoons)
  • Parsley (1 bunch)

+ Some waterbuckwheat


Put the buckwheat into a non-sticky pan and bake it on the stove from 5 to 10 minutes, on a low fire. In the mean time put water to boil (750 grams for the 250 grams of buckwheat) in a pot. After the buckwheat is baked, add it into the boiled water and let it boil for 20 minutes at a minimum fire without mixing it with a spoon.

Put the rest of the ingredients (all at once), except the parsley, into a pot or a pan, add some water and let it cook for about 15 minutes at a medium fire.

After the buckwheat is boiled, drain the remaining water and add the buckwheat over the rest of the ingredients. Now you can mix it with a spoon and let it cook for another 5 minutes.

Stop the fire and add the parsley….and there you have it!


P.S. You can enjoy it with some pickles of your choice
